Today we visited the most famous of the Mayan ruins, and most easily recognized, Chichen Itza. And I had the fun of visiting Mexico with the most wonderful group of gentlemen. These guys made my whole week a pleasure!

The order and organization of the structures, the acoustics, and the sheer scale of Chichen Itza are awe-inspiring.

The carvings here were fascinating (look closely at what he’s carrying, there).

I liked a lot of things I saw for sale here, and ended up with all kinds of souvenirs.

Later, we took the ferry over to Holbox Island for a few nights of rest at the beach. Our cottages were nestled into the tropical vegetation down a sandy path.

I waited here while JP had a massage, and he raved so much I had to go get one, also!

It was a little rainy, but we went for a walk around town, where we spotted this wonderful and bizarre mural,

and these colorful buildings.

Here is the last sunrise of the tour.
