After operating a handful of tours over the past 18 months, we’re excited to finally be sending our travelers out to see more of our amazing destinations around the world!
Ecuador
We recently completed successful tours to the Galapagos and Peru. With our amazing local partners, we adapted to the frequently changing requirements of travel, such as scheduling rapid-result tests as needed.
When we found out there would be a two-day delay in getting a flight from Quito to Lima, we reserved rooms for our guests at the incredible hacienda near Quito that we use for our Cotopaxi Adventure Tour. Against a backdrop of views of the magnificent Cotopaxi Volcano, our guests rode horses and hiked the mountain trails instead of hanging out by the airport.
Peru
When Peru announced that all transportation would be banned on Father’s Day, we rearranged our itinerary to visit Machu Picchu a day early. We also added a relaxing spa day at the finest resort in the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
The United States
Coming up next, we have sold out all three Grand Canyon rafting trips scheduled for this summer. Our two 2020 trips went very smoothly, so we are excited to return!
This will be our 48th consecutive summer of Colorado River running with our awesome partners from Grand Canyon Expeditions. They take care of all the logistics, including skillfully piloting our raft through the rapids and preparing meals kept refrigerated by the frigid Colorado River water.
Elsewhere, we are close to selling out two new tours that explore the southwestern corner of Colorado and northern New Mexico. Our newest Colorado ranch experience is nestled in the San Juan Mountains near Durango, Colorado. It offers the cowboy/cowgirl experience on horseback and guided nature hikes, as well as fly fishing and archery.
Southwest Enchantment, our newest cultural tour, immerses us in the Native American and Spanish heritage of the region. We will wander amongst the ancestral homes of Mesa Verde National Park and visit the contemporary Pueblo village of Taos. We will also head off the beaten track to the picturesque village of Abiquiu, where Georgia O’Keefe found inspiration for her colorful landscape paintings.
Over the Pond
Farther afield, we are heartened to see countries such as Greece, Spain, Germany, Israel, and Egypt announcing plans to open for visitors from the US, Canada, and the rest of Europe. We monitor travel requirements and on-the-ground conditions daily. We plan to resume tours to these regions this fall.
If you have been putting off long-distance travel but are feeling ready to start planning, please check our calendar for the fall of 2021 as well as 2022. We look forward to welcoming you on another travel adventure soon!
