The Origins
Gordon Ramsay’s name conjures up images of the famous chef shouting colorful insults at participants on one of his 25 TV shows. He has become an icon in the entertainment industry, and the show that kicked off this fame was Hell’s Kitchen.
As a Ramsay fan, when I first heard about a Hell’s Kitchen themed restaurant in Las Vegas, I knew I had to try it out. This isn’t one of the chef’s several Michelin starred restaurants, but making an online reservation is still a must. I was lucky enough to nab a dinner reservation on a Tuesday evening and we were on our way.
The Setting
Upon walking into the restaurant, we were greeted by Gordon on a large screen. He spoke to us as if we were contestants on the show. We checked in for our reservation by a wall of Hell’s Kitchen merchandise. The restaurant itself is essentially a replica of the set that the tv show was filmed on, replete with chefs in the open kitchen wearing blue or red just as the opposing teams wore on the show. This restaurant is definitely catering to Gordon’s die-hard fans.
After waiting a few minutes, we were seated by a window overlooking a fountain on the Caesar’s property.
The Food and Drinks
The waiter suggested starters and drinks. We went with the lobster risotto as well as the “Smoke on the Blvd” cocktail and “Notes from Gordon.” Notes from Gordon was a tasty gin drink that featured one of the chef’s famous quotes.
Smoke on the Blvd proved to be a fun, theatrical drink as well, with the “smoke” being literal as you can see in the video below.
This was a fun way to start off our meal. The theatrics proved not to be a gimmick as we were brought the lobster risotto that was absolutely delicious. For the main course, we ordered the beef wellington and roasted rack of lamb. Both were delectable and worth the wait.
Although we were stuffed after eating all of this exquisite food, we decided to try a dessert. After all, Gordon’s sticky toffee pudding is award-winning. It was so good, we forgot to take a picture of it! I highly recommend saving some room for dessert as it was every bit as delicious as the rest of our meals, if not, more so!
The Final Verdict
Hell’s Kitchen restaurant is a must for any Gordon Ramsay fan and for anyone that loves good food. The atmosphere is fun, the food is amazing and you’re left wanting to return to try more of the delectable dishes and amusing drinks.
