Day 1:  Welcome to Costa Rica

Costa Rica Sloth

Upon arrival at the Liberia airport in the northwestern part of Costa Rica, the driver will take us to our lodge for the next few days. The property is a large, secluded retreat surrounded by dense Dry Forest. Here we enjoy access to therapeutic mud baths, scenic hiking trails, and self-guided walks to seven waterfalls. Dinner will be on your own to allow maximum flexibility for flight arrivals.

Day 2: Welcome to Costa Rica’s Pacific Coast

Costa Rica Gay Travel: The Dream Adventure Tour Hike

After breakfast, we will head to Rincon de la Vieja National Park to explore the Pailas sector. An area known for its dramatic volcanic features and vibrant biodiversity. The trail winds through tropical dry forest and passes steaming fumaroles, bubbling mud pots, and sulfur springs, offering a rare glimpse into Costa Rica’s geothermal activity. Along the way, it’s common to see coatis, howler monkeys, and colorful tropical birds. The hike is moderately easy and well-maintained, making it enjoyable for everyone.

In the afternoon, you may enjoy the hotel’s natural amenities at your leisure. Your stay includes access to Rfo Negro Hot Springs, therapeutic mud baths, scenic hiking trails, and self-guided walks to seven waterfalls, all set within the property’s lush surroundings.

Tonight we will enjoy our Welcome Dinner. This will be a curated 4 course menu that celebrates local flavors in a warm, elegant setting.

Day 3: Canyon Adventure

Costa Rica Gay Travel: The Dream Adventure Tour Nature Waterfalls

Because of the thickness of the vast surrounding forest, it offers one the best areas for zip lining, Tarzan swinging, and rappelling. Feel the adrenaline rush as we combine each of these activities into one of your own jungle adventures. Afterward, we’ll have lunch and swap stories.

In the afternoon, you will be free to relax and enjoy the surrounding amenities of mud baths, waterfalls and hikes.

Tonight, we will dine together at the hotel.

Day 4: Rincon de la Vieja/Playa Hermosa

Today begins with breakfast at Hacienda Guachipelin, followed by the Rio Negro Tubing Adventure. This is a fun and refreshing experience on one of the region’s most scenic rivers. We will ride on individual river tubes down a 3-mile stretch of Class II and Ill rapids, bouncing and splashing through narrow canyons and quiet pools. The river’s crystal-clear waters and surrounding tropical forest make this a thrilling yet beautiful ride.

Afterwards, we will return to the hotel to check out and continue to Astorga Restaurant for lunch, known for its relaxed atmosphere and local flavors.

In the afternoon, we will transfer to Playa Hermosa on the Pacific coast. Upon arrival, we will check in at our hotel, a beachfront property surrounded by lush gardens and ocean views. Dinner will be served at the hotel.

Day 5: Catamaran Tour

Costa Rica Gay Travel: The Dream Adventure Tour Sunset

Today enjoy breakfast at your leisure, as we have a free morning to relax. Enjoy the beach, read by the pool or explore the area.

After lunch, we will head out to sea and enjoy time on a sunset catamaran tour.

This scenic cruise along the Pacific coast offers stunning views, opportunities for swimming or snorkeling, and a chance to spot marine life such as dolphins or sea turtles. As the sun begins to set, we will enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and panoramic ocean views on board.

We will enjoy dinner back at the hotel tonight.

Day 6: Playa Hermosa Cultural

Costa Rica Sloth

After breakfast, we will head to Santa Cruz for a full-day experience that blends tradition, nature, and local flavor. The day begins with a visit to the Diria River, where we will enjoy a peaceful walk along crystal-clear pools and scenic forest trails. A light snack will be offered before continuing to a charming local hotel where Costa Rican culture comes to life.

Throughout the day, we will take part in interactive workshops featuring traditional marimba music, handmade tortillas, and local crafts. A typical lunch prepared with fresh, regional ingredients will be served. Followed by coffee and homemade donuts while enjoying a performance of traditional dances that celebrate the heritage of Guanacaste. This is a warm and authentic experience, ideal for those looking to connect with the cultural roots of Costa Rica.

Dinner will be served back at the lodge.

Day 7. Hacienda El Viejo

Costa Rica Monkey

This morning, we will travel to Hacienda El Viejo, located near Palo Verde National Park, for a memorable nature and cultural experience. The day begins with a guided boat tour along the Tempisque River, offering close-up views of one of Costa Rica’s most important wetland ecosystems. As the boat glides through calm waters, we may spot crocodiles, iguanas, monkeys, and a wide variety of birds-including herons, egrets, and roseate spoonbills-making this a paradise for wildlife lovers and photographers.

Following the tour, we will enjoy a traditional Costa Rican lunch at La Casona, a historic hacienda recognized as a National Heritage site. The setting and flavors offer a perfect end to a day filled with nature and culture.

In the evening, we will gather for a farewell dinner.
