Zachary’s Notes: February 2020 – Extending the Love

February 11, 2020 by Zachary Moses

It’s been a busy month

Trisha and I promoted HE Travel at the New York Times Travel Show in Manhattan. We participated in an LGBTQ+ travel pavilion, which was huge this year! The pavilion covered 2900 sq. ft. and we even had our own stage!

My biggest surprise takeaway from the event was noticing the increase in trans-awareness. I was blown away by how many trans people are now publicly sharing what they’ve been going through. We had trans people coming out on stage, and we hear regularly about trans travelers “coming-out,” more and more on our tours. Trans people are everywhere, and they are finally being heard! We’re proud to provide a safe environment for this.

I had a marketing cold-call today, and the salesperson came out to me as trans! He said he would have never felt comfortable to talk openly about it on the phone, if we hadn’t been an openly LGBTQ+ company. So, even though it’s not Trans Awareness week, I’m making you all aware today: Click for Trans-Awareness Information.

Customer appreciation month was a BIG success!

New record! Biggest sales month ever!! Unfortunately, if you were interested in our all-new Magic of Oman tour or our all-new Germany Special Access tour, they went live on our website right before the Customer Appreciation cutoff.

Therefore, in the spirit of LOVE, we will happily extend the customer appreciation discount to you through February 14th, 2020. The discount is $200 OFF either of these two tours + $100 OFF for each friend you bring. The discount also applies to them too!

Tour Status Updates:

With the success of Customer appreciation, several of our tours are already SOLD OUT, or only have a few spaces left. Here are just a few:

Portugal Cycling only has one spot left in a male room-share!

Cotopaxi Adventure Only one room left!

Mexico City only one room left!

Update from the Governor’s Race:

I’m getting out more and seeing the state of Utah. I love meeting all the random people. Campaigning and chit chatting with everyone is a natural joy for me. In case you missed it, I got a fantastic write-up in LGBTQ-Nation: Click here to read it!

However, we unfortunately did not reach our necessary fundraising threshold to participate in the Utah Silicone Slopes Tech Show’s – Governor’s Debate.

As the leading Democrat, you might not expect fundraising thresholds would prevent participation, but the Utah GOP does not want me in there. Due to being blocked, most Utahan’s still believe that there are only Republican candidates running for Governor of Utah! Please donate and help us win representation for the LGBTQ community of Utah!

I hope to see you on tour!

Warmly,

Zachary Moses – HE Travel CEO, Candidate for Utah Governor 2020

About Zachary Moses

Zachary has done every job at HeTravel.com. He started in the marketing mailroom in 2010, and eventually worked his way up to serving 2 years on the board of directors for the National Tour Association and an additional two years serving as the CEO of HeTravel.com.

He ran for Governor of Utah as a Democrat in 2020, garnering international attention while running in this historically RED state.

During a 14-month long Pandemic-related forced "sabbatical," he returned to his passion of carpentry, having now restored several historic buildings. He also gave a TEDx talk in 2020 pitching an idea to save/restore the Great Salt Lake and other western saline lakes.

Zachary has returned to HE Travel, however, he is no longer the CEO and has now taken on the role of CXO or Chief Experience Officer.

Zach has been working with the company for more than a decade, and still leads tours, writes blogs, and speaks at international conferences.
