Hello Fellow HE Travelers,
We’ve been up to quite a bit lately! We drove back to Salt Lake City around the first part of June…
We then frantically got a few projects further along, before hopping on a plane. Not only that, but we then flew to Switzerland and joined our Alpenglow Swiss Hiking Tour for the first time. Wow, I had never realized the beauty of the Swiss Alps and Zermatt. Absolutely breathtaking. One older gentleman on the tour asked if I would scatter his ashes in a spot where we had stopped to take pictures. He said he could think of no more beautiful final resting place.
Truthfully, this gorgeous tour kicked our collective butts!
There were Gondolas on some hikes, to make it easier, but the Swiss Alps are massive! The whole itinerary was quite advanced. Trisha kindly updated the physical challenge on the website to reflect this. Also, I probably should get out of the office and visit the gym more. Ha!
Regardless of this tour’s difficulty, we had a ton of fun!
The scenery was stunning! Several of the guys had previously done our Grindelwald Swiss hiking tour and said they loved that one too. Although, they say Grindelwald is much easier. Therefore, based on feedback, we have decided to run both trips back-to-back for the 2023 season. This will help accommodate more levels of hikers. I suggest bookmarking our calendar, so you can keep on top of the latest tours! I might even join that launch myself. I’d love to see Zermatt again and see what Grindelwald is all about.
Also…did I mention we went Paragliding for the first time? Because we totally did. The first time paragliding was in the Swiss Alps. AMAZING!! Trisha was the one that talked me into it. She’s a real daredevil. We took a helicopter to the top, then jumped off a mountain for a 25-minute sail to the bottom. I felt like James Bond. It was a WOW experience! I had to lay on the ground afterward…when I did not feel like James Bond. Videos, blogs, and new tour dates to follow.
We got back to the United States,
…and we went straight to Madeline Island; one of the Apostle Islands of Lake Superior for some disconnected R&R time. The time spent there was great! I saw my in-laws and was able to put my construction skills to use. My brother-in-law Scott and I resurfaced the roof of my wife’s great-grandmother’s trailer (The Silver Bullet). This is where they keep all the beer during the festivities. I had the pleasure of sleeping on the floor of that trailer. There were a ton of us visiting, and limited bed space, so I got next to the fridge. LOL! My mother-in-law knows that I like to stay up late entertaining and will be the last to bed. Ha-ha. 😊
We’ll be hitting the road soon to deliver our Idaho Getaway tour. More to come!
Here’s our last-minute tour availability:
Patagonia: Bottom of the World only has two spots left!
Our Gay Malta Cultural Tour also only has two spots left!
I hope to see you on tour!
Warmly,
