Zachary’s Notes – May 2023 – Indonesia, India and Saipan

May 22, 2023 by Zachary Moses

Greetings fellow HE Traveler’s

I hope this note finds you well. It’s been an exciting and eventful month for me, full of adventure and new experiences.

Firstly, I’m thrilled to report that we’ve finally launched our Indonesia tour!

Our inaugural launch of the long delayed (pandemic) Gay Indonesia-Island Hop tour was a resounding success! As you may recall, I was hosting this tour, and I couldn’t have been happier with how it turned out. Our guests were enthusiastic and engaged, and we received rave reviews for the itinerary and accommodations. It was truly a pleasure to share the beauty and culture of Indonesia with them.

Following the tour, we had the opportunity to attend a massive travel bazaar in India.

It was a whirlwind of meetings and networking, but we came away feeling energized and inspired. The traffic in India was hectic, with scooters and motorcycles everywhere, making for a lively and sometimes chaotic scene on the streets. I was amazed at how people navigated through it all without incident.

After the bazaar, I joined a FAM trip through the Golden Triangle.

This was a fantastic opportunity to explore some of the most iconic sites in India, and I was blown away by the history and beauty of the region. From the Taj Mahal to the forts and palaces of Jaipur, it was an unforgettable journey.

During my time in India, I also had the chance to witness the open-air cremations in Varanasi. It was a humbling and incredible experience to witness this ancient tradition firsthand. The ceremony was both solemn and beautiful, and it gave me a deeper appreciation for the diverse cultures and customs of our world.

Finally, I had the chance to visit my sister in Saipan.

It was wonderful and restorative to spend time with my family and to enjoy the stunning beaches and tropical scenery at the same time. The coolest part? Saipan is in the Northern Marianas Islands, which includes Guam. Which means it lies within US territory. It feels like visiting a foreign country, but has the benefit of staying in the good old US-of-A.

Saipan is truly a hidden gem,

I’m grateful for the chance to experience it firsthand. We’ll be creating a new tour there soon, providing an opportunity to explore this glorious region yourselves.

Overall, this month has been a whirlwind of adventure and discovery. I feel grateful for the opportunities I’ve had to explore new places and to share my passion for travel with others. I look forward to what the next month has in store!

Last Minute Tour Updates:

We only have one spot left on our Gay Colorado Dude Ranch tour, departing September 3rd, 2023. I will be personally leading this trip, and it is one of my favorite tours in the company.

Valley of the Chateaux departing on September 8, 2023, is almost full. If you’re considering joining this trip, you need to book it asap.

Also, if you haven’t seen them, check out my travel notes from April, 2023

I hope to see you on tour!

Warmly,

Zachary Moses

About Zachary Moses

Zachary has done every job at HeTravel.com. He started in the marketing mailroom in 2010, and eventually worked his way up to serving 2 years on the board of directors for the National Tour Association and an additional two years serving as the CEO of HeTravel.com.

He ran for Governor of Utah as a Democrat in 2020, garnering international attention while running in this historically RED state.

During a 14-month long Pandemic-related forced "sabbatical," he returned to his passion of carpentry, having now restored several historic buildings. He also gave a TEDx talk in 2020 pitching an idea to save/restore the Great Salt Lake and other western saline lakes.

Zachary has returned to HE Travel, however, he is no longer the CEO and has now taken on the role of CXO or Chief Experience Officer.

Zach has been working with the company for more than a decade, and still leads tours, writes blogs, and speaks at international conferences.
